Sports and my oldest daughter

Published by taysyd at 4:27 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

My oldest daughter is very athletic. She is now 16 years old and has been involved in sports since she was five years old. She first started playing basketball for the YMCA. She was the only girl on the team and her dad was the coach!

She wasn’t very good to start, but at that age, they all get playing time regardless.

Basketball was the only sport she really played through the years . She played with the YMCA, select ball,  Jr. high and Sr. high.

In the tenth grade, she decided she didn’t want to play basketball anymore and took a break that year. She has gotten better over the years to where her coaches practically begged her to play her 10th grade year.

She decided that her academics were more important, but she continued to play street ball with her friends.

After sitting out for a year (she is now in the 11th grade), she decided that she needed to get involved in some type of sport and decided on girls wrestling for this year.

I found that to be a little odd, but it seems to be pretty popular. She has been training since the beginning of this school year and she’s now preping for her first match.

She’s excited and said this was a good way for her to lose some of the weight that she’s gained over the summer.
